Good morning! Today we will pick up our reading in Ephesians chapter one.
Bible Verse – Ephesian 1:12-14 NLT
“12 God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. 13 And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own[d] by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.”
Reflection
The spiritual blessings that God provides to believers includes:
- The sovereign election of God the Father (chapter 1:3-6)
- The redemptive work of the son – Jesus Christ (chapter 1:7-12), and
- The seal of the Holy Spirit (chapter 1:13-14)
Praise God that He calls every believer His own.
Prayer
Father God, thank you for not abandoning us. Thank you for loving us enough to send your son Jesus to save us. Thank you for the Holy Spirit that was given to us as a guarantee of salvation and heaven. Lord, thank you.
Lord, continue to work in us and transform us to be believers who represent you well. Help us to understand Your word and apply it to our daily lives. Lord, help us to follow You more than politics, Facebook, X, Instagram, and other social media outlets. Lord, when we begin to scroll through the ads and other eye catching titles help us to pass those things with a godly filter. Help us to recognize untruths, misleading content, and things that don’t align with your will. Help us to turn to you. Lord, have Your Holy Spirit guide us in spirit and in truth as we go throughout this day.
Lord, be with those in search of employment. Help them to find steady employment in a healthy workplace environment. Lord, open up doors and opportunities for positions that will align best with the spiritual gifts you have given them.
Lord, continue your mighty work in us today. Continue to protect and rescue innocent children. Continue to heal the sick and those recovering. Bless those in need. Stabilize our minds with mental clarity. Equip us and suit us up in Your armor to navigate this day.
Lord, use us. In Jesus name, amen.
