Brought Near to Him

Good morning! Today we will continue our reading in Ephesians chapter two. Enjoy.

Bible Verse – Ephesians 2:11-13 NLT

“11 Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. 12 In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. 13 But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.”

Reflection

These verses are significant to anyone who was not Jewish, but became Christians. The significance is that Jesus made a way for more than the Jewish people to be saved and reconciled back to God. Those who were considered Gentiles were uncircumcised, excluded/alienated, left out from participating in God’s covenant, without hope for their future, and without God.

But praise God for Jesus Christ, where those who were far away from God and the Jews, were/are now brought near because of the blood of Jesus Christ. Sin separates us from God, and it is only the atonement of Jesus Christ that removes that sin barrier. By God’s grace and mercy, peace was established between the Jewish and the Gentiles believers – all believers, and the peace of God and the people who believe in Him.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for sending Jesus Christ to save us and reconcile us back to you. Lord, forgive us of our sins against you and others (knowingly and unknowingly). Lord, soften our hearts and give us an obedient spirit that chases after you.

Be with us today. Watch over us and protect us against the plots of the evil one. Lord, cover us, heal us, and transform us to be more like Christ every day.

Lord, help those in need mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially. Lord, stabilize the thinking of those experiencing stress, anger, anxiety – give them wisdom, discernment, and clarity. Lord, stabilize funds for those who are without, in need, and with limited resources to have each need met and have overflow.

Lord, help us to keep You first in our lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.🙏
