The Great Comforter

Good morning! Lord, let Your word continue to remind us of your truth and promises as we come to you in prayer.

Bible Verse – 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 NLT

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us.”

DEAR GOD.

Thank you for your grace in our lives through Christ Jesus. Thank you for never leaving us abandoned or lost. Thank you for a new month ahead that gives us an opportunity to see things as you do and helps us to enjoy drawing closer to you. Lord, forgive us when we set ourselves up to know more than you. Forgive us when we judge others and we forget that you are the ultimate judge. Lord, humble our hearts and align our thoughts and hearts with yours.

Lord, demolish the strongholds of the enemy, and help us to rest in your refuge and allow you to be the stronghold that secures and protects us. Gracious Lord, remind us to seek you before we seek our own thoughts and the thoughts of others. Lord, humbly correct us when we are wrong and transform us. Lord, where there is stubbornness or a tendency to be head strong, we ask that you tear down those barriers so that we will have room to hear you, be obedient to your leading, and display your love toward others. Lord, release us of our dependencies on others and recognize that You, and only You can satisfy our deepest longings. Help us to recognize when we put others on a pedestal that only you should be on, because none of us are perfect. We have all fallen short and that’s why we all need You.

Thank you for sending the comforter, who comforters us at all times. Thank you for your peace. Thank you for all those things, but also thank you for bringing other Christians into our lives and situations to encourage us in our faith and during trials. Lord, you never stop amazing us. Lord, we come to you broken and over time we are healed, and sometimes we forget we asked to be healed – but, you never hang that over our heads, you never say I am not going to do that again, but instead you are faithful and you heal us over and over again. There is no comforter or healer like You.

Lord, keep working in us and transform us to rely on You, to recognize You and what You have done on our behalf. Release us from the bondage of bitterness and anger because others couldn’t do what Only You can do. Lord, strengthen us in your word.

Lord, we lift up every prayer request for healing. Lord, cure those suffering with respiratory and heart issues, heal those who are suffering from autoimmune disease, heal those with chronic illnesses and release them from pain. Lord, work within their medical providers, give the providers knowledge, wisdom, discernment and compassion to treat them. Lord, we pray for mental clarity. We pray for broken bones to be healed. We pray for court situations to be worked out and for compassion to be shown. Lord, we pray for employment for these seeking employment. We pray for those who are seeking and in need of better working conditions. Lord, we pray for those with financial struggles and we ask that you stabilize their finances and provide for their needs. Lord, we pray for all the prayers needed but have not been mentioned, and we ask for your continued answering of our prayers. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
