Good morning! Do you know of someone who calls you or someone else faithfully/without fail? Maybe they don’t call everyday or every weekend, but you know they will. When they do call sometimes it doesn’t feel that long ago, as you quickly provide updates since your last call. Today, we will finish our reading in 1 Thessalonians. Join me as we read.
Bible verse – 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28 NLT
“23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24 God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
25 Dear brothers and sisters, pray for us. 26 Greet all the brothers and sisters with a sacred kiss.
27 I command you in the name of the Lord to read this letter to all the brothers and sisters. 28 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”
Reflection
Apostle Paul was finalizing his letter to the believers at Thessalonica. He was filled with love for them and had given them a lot to consider, do, and pray about. However, Paul’s confidence wasn’t in them completing the task alone. Paul pointed the believers to God – the One who makes all things possible. He is the One who called them and He is always faithful.
Sisters and brothers, who is calling you today?
When God calls, you won’t receive a scam alert or a request for your credit card number. You will hear so much more that will cause you to spiritually mature and be all that God has called you to be. Attune your ears, God is calling you too?
Trust His Peace!
Trust His Faithfulness!
Prayer
Father God we thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for us. God, daily we need your peace and strength in and around us. Somtimes the weight of this world (e.g., finances, work, etc.) attempts to destroy our peace. Yet, we find peace in knowing You have everything under control. Thank you for your son Jesus Christ who came and saved us. Lord Jesus, there is no greater hope than you. Lord, strengthen our faith and resolve as we lean on you in every circumstance. Help us to forgive and demonstrate love. Help us to live out these verses in 1 Thessalonians in real-time. Lord, help us to speak words and live out our actions in alignment with Your will. Show your self faithful as we trust You to make us able to walkout your truth in our lives. In Jesus name, amen.
