Good morning! Today we will continue our reading in Ephesians. The verses we will read today are so powerful that I feel like I can recite them all day. May the bless you to.
Bible Verse: Ephesians 1:3-8 NLT
“3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.[b] 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.”
Reflection
The scriptures never cease to amaze me. When I think about a love story, the greatest one is told about God’s love for us. He goes through the greatest lengths to remind us of His everlasting love. He is worthy of our praise – and is to be spoken well of always.
Yesterday, in verse 2 we read that God is the Father of believers, and today in verse three we read God is the Father of Christ, and we as believers belong to Christ. God is the One who has blessed us and continues to bless us. He blesses us with every spiritual need to live a spirit led life. These are given to us through Christ and developed by faith. These heavenly blessings are not temporal they are eternal, they are not material but they are spiritual, and the are not earthly they are heavenly.
To sum it up: God’s blessings for believers is eternity, where He will bless us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. These blessings are not because of our own work, but we will continue to read that it is the work of the Father (God) choosing us in verses 4-6, the sacrifice of the Son (Jesus Christ) verses 7-12, and the seal of the Holy Spirit verses 13-14.
Sisters and brothers, let us praise God for all He has done for us. Let us speak well of Him. He loves us.
Prayer
Father God, we thank you and praise you for all that you have done. You have been so good to us. Thank you for choosing us as Your children. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice on the cross to save us and reconcile us back to God. There is no greater love than the love God gives.
Father God, help us to embrace these scriptures and let them penetrate our hearts. Lord, remove any thoughts that are contrary to your love for us. Transform us daily and increase our faith as we grow in our understanding of you. Lord, we know we can study you and your word for years and never fully understand your thoughts or your ways, but you are a good Father and we desire to trust you with everything. Lord, strengthen us when our faith is weak. Comfort us when our mourning is painful and complicated. Give us peace when the enemy and the world seems to be in chaos. Bring clarity in areas where there is confusion. Remove fear and anxiety when it tries to bound us and keep us from the life you have called us to. Lord, awaken us and prepare our hearts for the journey ahead while we remain anchored to you.
Lord, you know every prayer request each reader has. Lord, we believe that you will answer their prayers. So Father God, wherever healing is needed – let them be healed in Jesus Name, wherever there is a decision that needs to be made – give them mental clarity, discernment, wisdom, and grace. Lord, put your hedge of protection around us as we move throughout the day. Cover all your children and may we be a light to those who are in darkness and those who do not yet believe. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
