Good morning! There are so many things to be grateful for, even in the midst of grief there are moments of gratitude, purpose, growth and endurance. As we continue to read 2 Corinthians chapter three, we can understand the significance of the old way (Old Covenant) and look so purposefully at the new and glorious way (New Covenant) that remains forever. Join me as we read verses 7-11.

Bible Verse – 2 Corinthians 3:7-11 NLT

“⁷ The old way,^[b] with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. ⁸ Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? ⁹ If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God! ¹⁰ In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. ¹¹ So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever!”

Reflection

Paul continued to minister to the Corinthian church and emphasized that those who trust in Christ will find that the Spirit gives life. The Spirit leads nonbelievers and believers alike to faith in Christ and His righteousness. In ourselves we cannot do anything or save ourselves, but in Christ Jesus there is salvation, redemption and freedom. It’s already done, we only need to believe what Christ has done for us and receive Him as our Lord and Savior. He is our only hope.

Sisters and brothers, I don’t know the obstacles that you encountered this year, but God does and He still has you. He is not finished with you and He is not done working things out for you. In this new season rely on the hope and faith that is within you. Revisit the word of God that has been written on your heart. Spend quality time with the Father, the One who knows you best. Trust Him.

For those of you who are reading today and have not given your life to Christ, I don’t want you to leave this devotion without the opportunity to accept Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you are ready, pray with me:

“Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry for my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins, and I invite Jesus to come into my heart and life to be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”   

Lord, we acknowledge, believe, repent, and surrender our lives to you. Thank you for saving us.

Father God, thank you for the new and glorious way that remains forever. Thank you for newness of life in and through Christ Jesus. Father, thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to save us from ourselves (our sins). Lord, you knew the extent in which we needed to be forgiven and saved. Thank you for making a way for us. Lord, as we look ahead with good and not so good memories, Lord we give ourselves to you to do something new in our lives. Lord, we are done with being stuck in our past, chained to our hurts and regrets. Lord, stretch us beyond average and lead us to focus on what you have called us to do. Lord, you are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Lord as we begin a new day we want to be found in relationship with you. Continue your good work in and through us.

Lord, we pray for the woman in the hospital with a coma and brain bleed. Lord, we ask for stabilization and healing. Lord, we pray for the man who has a tumor behind his eye and is having a difficult time breathing. Lord, help the physicians remove the tumor and allow his sight to return. Lord, we pray for those fighting cancer and we continue to ask for their healing. We pray for those who are in need. Help us all.

In Jesus name, amen.
