Good morning! Today, we are continuing our reading in the book of Matthew where Jesus responds to the two questions the disciples asked Him. Jesus spoke about the questions and now we will read how he taught them a lesson. Join me as we read Matthew chapter 24 verses 32-36.

Bible Verse – Matthew 24:32-36
32 “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. 33 In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

36 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.”

Reflection
The confident reminders in these verses are Jesus will return and “His words will never disappear” (v.35b). Sisters and brothers, while things may be filled with chaos or going crazy around you, hold onto the word of God that never changes and will never disappear. Our God is faithful and His words are true. While we are assured there will be signs of His return drawing near we must keep our eyes on Jesus – He never fails.

Spend some time reading the word on your own and keep praying.

Prayer
LORD, thank you for another day. Thank you for your love toward us. Lord thank you for forgiveness of sins. Lord, we desire to know you more, teach us your ways and truth everyday. Lord, write your words on our hearts so that we will not depart from them. Lord, guide us in the way we should go. Lord, open the eyes of the spiritually blind. Lord, give them sight and a surrendered heart. Lord, be with us and remind us of all your promises. Help us to be bold and be a light in the darkness, on our jobs, in our schools, in our families and in our churches. Continue to shape and mold us into who you want us to be. Use us, LORD.

Lord, go before us today. Give us strength to get up, and align our day and our actions with you. Lord, be with us as we prepare ourselves for the day ahead. Lord, give us peace and help us to trust you with the outcome. Lord, watch over the children going to school today. Keep them safe as they go and return home. Protect them from harm in the classroom and give their teachers the necessary tools, resources, knowledge, and patience to teach them well.

Lord, we pray for the brokenhearted and those who are grieving today. Lord, strengthen their souls and give them peace. Help them as they strive to move forward each day. Lord, remove depression and anxiety, and fill them with hope.

Lord, we pray for those battling cancer, and Lord, we ask for them to be healed. Lord, we pray for those seeking employment, and Lord we ask for you to open doors, and give them favor in job opportunities. Lord, heal the man who is suffering with seizures. Lord, help the women and families struggling with finding housing, and bless them with a new home and a new start.

In Jesus name, amen.
