Again and Again

Good morning! I often find myself praying for random people who cross my path and for people I know. I love how prayer changes things or simply changes me. The Lord is faithful. Enjoy today’s devotion and your day.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 7:7-8 NLT
“7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

REFLECTION
Today’s verses remind us to be persistent and faithful in prayer. In Matthew 6:5-15, Jesus gave us the disciples and us an example/templet of prayer. Now we read that God welcomes prayer, but the pretense in the verb shows that it is a continuous action – keep on…

Brothers and sisters, we serve a God who welcomes our prayers. He invites us to spend time drawing near to Him in prayer over and over again. God sees and hears you:

• Keep on asking

• Keep on seeking

• Keep on knocking

The Lord doesn’t get tired of hearing our prayers.

  • What do you need to pray about today? ______
  • Who do you need to pray for today? ______

Take that prayer to the Lord, the One who can answer your prayers.

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for your faithfulness toward us. Thank you for answering our prayers, even when the answer is no. Lord, thank you for being our guide throughout our daily lives. Lord, thank you for the compassion that you show us and for forgiving us of our sins. Lord, help us to persistently seek you.

Lord, you are a gracious father who continues to give gifts we don’t deserve and we thank you. Lord, we pray for the lost, least and the last. Lord, we ask that you continue to pour out your Holy Spirit on us – refreshing us daily with your presence within us. Lord, we need you and we love you. Lord, as we seek you, reveal yourself to us and equip us with whatever we need to be a blessing to you and others.

Lord, we pray for the safety of children who are going or preparing to go to school. Lord, keep them, cover their schools, minister to the hearts of teachers, administrators and the school district. Lord, be with the parents and give them insight on how to be a blessing to their children as they face a new school day. Lord, we pray for children battling depression. Lord, give them peace and a sound mind. Lord, we pray for children who are hungry and for families who cannot afford clothes, backpacks, shoes, etc. Lord, we ask that you provide for their financial, physical, and spiritual needs.

Lord, lift our eyes up to you. Help us to not lose sight of you or all the things that you do for us. Be with those who are traveling today – give them safe travels to their destinations without any incidents. In Jesus name, amen.
