Don’t Be A Goat

Good morning! Yesterday, we read Matthew 25:31-39 where the parable began with the Son of Man coming in his glory – the final judgment. In verse 33 it states, “He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.” We also read Jesus’ response to what will occur with the sheep at his right. Today we will read on what will occur with the goats on the left. Enjoy today’s reading, which is the end of chapter 25, and your weekend.

Bible Verse – Matthew 25:40-46 NLT
“41 “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ 46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.””

REFLECTION
Brothers and sisters there are needs all around us. There isn’t a lack of people who truly need a touch, help or response from a Christian brother or sister to encourage their faith, to feed them, to fight for justice on their behalf, and to offer love. Maybe you or someone you know are in need of some of these things today. Please know that I am praying for you. Also, I want to encourage you to reach out to a trustworthy member of your church that will help you, pray with you or direct you to resources. If you don’t have someone who can help you through this time, reach out to us and we will try to find you the best resources we know of and as always – we will certainly pray for you.

For readers who are able, ask the Lord, how can I be of service to you (him)/ your (his) people today.

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for helping us to see things as you do. We desire to follow you all the days of our lives. Lord, where we lack vision, give us sight. Lord, we don’t want to be self absorbed, we want to be about your business. Lord, where we question what can we do, show us and speak to us on ways we can serve you. Lord, direct our steps and align our will to yours. Lord, we pray for the lost, least and last. Lord, we ask that you comfort them and protect them. Lord, open up opportunities for them to improve their living conditions, family situations and keep them firmly planted in your word. Lord, be with the widows, orphans and parents who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. Lord, comfort them and encourage their spirit. Lord, we pray for those who are worried today about a situation that may be out of their control, Lord minister to their hearts and give them peace. Help them to trust you more today than ever before. Lord, heal those who have been sick with COVID or colds, etc., restore their breathing, cure fevers and suppress the coughs. Lord, we pray for the readers who are having surgeries this month or have recently had a surgery and we pray for full recoveries. Lord, be with the physician’s and medical providers, touch their hands and give them wisdom to perform the procedures well. Lord, we look forward to the day that we will spend eternal life with you. However, until that day strengthen us, help us to press forward in you and may all that we do in your name brings you glory. In Jesus name, amen.
