When You Did It To One

We are nearing the end of Matthew chapter 25. The section we are covering is titled Final Judgment. The section will be covered in two parts, so make sure you join me tomorrow as we finish chapter 25. Have a wonderful day.

BIBLE VERSE Matthew 25:31-40 NLT
“31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.  35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

REFLECTION
The many gifts the Lord has given us, includes our ability to love and have compassion on others. While he equips us with more, these verses remind us that whatever we do forone of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to” Him.”

Sisters and brothers, the Lord is faithful, merciful, gracious and just. He will never force himself on you. However, He is always waiting with His arms outstretched for His children to return to Him.

What is the Lord calling you to do?What are you willing to do for the least of these?

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for being faithful, merciful, gracious and just. Lord God, you are our everything. You know our beginning from the end, and everything in between. Lord, you continue to show us how much you love us. Thank you for loving us. Lord, thank you for opportunities to serve you. Thank you for the ability to live our lives in ways that glorify you. Lord, we want to continue to care for the least of these, show us how – equip us with the knowledge and wisdom that only you can provide. Lord, we pray for the ‘least’ and ask that you make provisions and provide opportunities to help us to serve our brothers and sisters who are hurting,  are lost, are without home and without food. Lord, provide the peace, mental stability,  warm shelter and rest for their weary souls. Lord, we pray for our homeless and parentless youth. Lord, they are being preyed upon daily. Lord, give them a safe refuge, a place where they can find shelter, compassion and godly people to guide them through life. Lord, we pray for all those who are in dependent living facilities/shelters and ask that you soften their hearts to receive You as the Lord of their lives. Lord, be with all the workers – refresh, encourage and show them the difference that they are making. Lord, help us to be your hands and feet that make a difference in the lives of others. Change us. In Jesus name, amen!
