Happy Monday! Sometimes I look back over my life and I think about the places that I have been or the things that I have done and I know it was only the hand of God that kept me and protected me. I also realize that someone had to have been praying for me. Have you ever been in a situation where you heard the Holy Spirit tell you it’s time to leave an event or don’t go do that today or go this way instead of that way? Today, we will continue our reading in Psalm 25 with the Psalmist recognizing the Lord – His instructions, His guidance, His faithfulness and His forgiveness.
Psalm 25:8-11 NIV
“Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For the sake of your name, Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.”
Reflection
The Lord is good. Regardless of our background, our past sins and our decisions the Lord continues to:
- instruct sinners in his ways
- He doesn’t abandon us
- guide the humble in what is right
- He doesn’t force us. When we are humble enough to seek out His ways, He guides us in what is right. Are you willing to stop, seek Him and listen to His guidance?
- love and faithfully forgive us
- Nothing can separate us from His love. God’s love is so great that He sent His one and only son so that we might be saved. Jesus Christ was sent as the perfect sacrifice so that our sins will be forgiven and to reconcile us back into relationship with God.
The Lord has always loved you and continues to love you. He is jealous for you. He will lead you. Trust Him, surrender your will and humbly follow Him.
Prayer
Father God thank you for never leaving us or forsaking us. Thank you for all that you have done for us. Thank you for delivering us from the hands of our enemies, for protecting us when we walked in the darkness of this world instead of in your light. Lord, we pray that you continue to work in us and transform us. Lord, we trust you with our lives, we trust your protection over our family, children and household. Lord, continue to speak to the hearts of those who believe and those who do not believe. Lord, we know you are our healer, comforter and provider. Lord, heal the sick. Touch those who are grieving. Provide for those who are in need. Give clarity to those who are struggling with what to do next. Lord, guide us, instruct us and help us to feel your unfailing love. In Jesus name, amen.
