His Way

Good morning! Today we will continue our reading in Psalm 25. Enjoy!

Bible verse – Psalm 25:4-7 NIV

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
    for you, Lord, are good.”

Reflection

Yesterday we read the opening verses of Psalm 25, which focused on our trust in the Lord. The beauty of trust is that it lends us to surrender ourselves to the one we trust. There is no one greater or more worthy of trust and our surrender than the Lord of all creation, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the one whose presence is always with us.

When we surrender our will it is easier to step back and say words like:

  • Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths.
  • Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Not only are we able to say it, we wholeheartedly desire it and follow it. When King David wrote this psalm it was almost reflective of his past. It was almost like he was mentally experiencing/reflecting on the pain of his past and not being/feeling worthy of the things he was asking of the Lord, but he stopped and remembered the Lord’s love for him.

Sisters and brothers, remember because of God’s great mercy and love Christ came so that we may be forgiven of our sins and reconciled into relationship with God. If you repented and accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior then your past sins have been forgiven. The Lord is good and merciful. He loves you with an everlasting love. He is trustworthy. He will show, teach and guide you in His ways. The questions are: will you allow him to and will you follow his lead?

Lord, remember us.

Prayer

Father God we thank you for being merciful and for loving us. Lord, we know there are things in our past that would have separated us from you had it not been for Christ Jesus. God we thank you for our Savior Jesus Christ. Lord, we are so grateful to be able to come to you and share our deepest pain, our greatest praise and ask for guidance. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown). Lord, we surrender our will to you today and ask that you show us your ways, that you teach us your path, that you guide us in Your truth and teach us. Lord, we know the road will not be easy. We know there are hills and obstacles to climb. But Lord, we know you – we believe your word that says you will not leave us, you are our strong tower, you are our provider and that you are Lord of all. Lord, help us to overcome fear and anxiety that hinders us from walking in our purpose or from following you. Lord, help us to stand for truth and all the things that you stand for – not what man declares, but what you declare in your word. Lord, teach us the difference and helps us to follow you. Lord, we pray for our nation, for believers and non-believers to know you and follow you. Lord, we pray for families and households to serve you, and to be your hands and feet in this world. Lord, guide us today and help us to be a reflection of you. In Jesus name, amen.
