Committed

Good morning! Last night I posted the first part of Peter sharing the message of Good News “that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all“. Today we will continue reading what Peter said to Cornelius and those who were present.

Bible verse

39 “And we apostles are witnesses of all he did throughout Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a cross,[c]40 but God raised him to life on the third day. Then God allowed him to appear, 41 not to the general public,[d] but to us whom God had chosen in advance to be his witnesses. We were those who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead. 43 He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.”” – Acts 10:39-43 NLT

Reflection

Sisters and brothers, there isn’t much more that I can add to this powerful message of the truth.

  1. Jesus was put to death on the cross.
  2. God raised Jesus to life on the third day.
  3. Jesus appeared to witnesses.
  4. Jesus commanded the disciples to preach and testify everywhere.
  5. Jesus is the one appointed by God to be the judge over the living and dead.

The question to ponder on today is do you believe? The word says clearly, “everyone who believes in him will have their sins forgiven through his name.

In Romans 10, Paul (formerly known as Saul) emphasized that salvation is for everyone. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

Sisters and brothers, there is salvation in the name of Jesus. Maybe today you are questioning your relationship with Christ Jesus. Maybe you never had a personal relationship with Christ. Well the good news is God sent Jesus for you and I. He came so that we can be reconciled back to God, because on our own, left to our own emotions and personal devices we will never be good enough or perfect enough to enter the kingdom of heaven. Today, I want to give you an opportunity to commit or recommit your life to Christ. Are ready join me in prayer?

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer for the first time, I want to say welcome to God’s family. I also want to encourage you to get connected with your local Bible believing church or online church and let them know that you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior or that you have recommitted your life. Also let our team know, we would love to send you a Bible.

Prayer

Father God in the name of Jesus we come to you in prayer. We want to thank you for being a loving ❤ Father who loves us unconditionally regardless of race, culture or background. Thank you for sending your son Jesus so that we can be reconciled to you. Lord, help us to be attuned to your voice and plans for our lives. Help as to have the same hunger and passion/drive to hear the word as Cornelius had and let us have the same commitment to share the message as Peter did. Lord, awaken us to hear from you. Open our eyes to see clearly what your plans are for us, even if it is just one step at a time. Lord, we know that you are still in the business of performing miracles, doing new things and changing hearts & lives. Lord, have your way within us and transform form us. Give us favor in our situations. Lord, we pray for our nation. We pray for you to take the lead role in uniting us as believers who actually walk the talk. Lord, help us to be a better reflection of you, so that when people see and hear us they see you. Lord, we pray for healing and reconciliation in this world. Lord, we pray for healing for those who have COVID-19, who have residual medical conditions because of COVID-19, we pray for cancer tumors to shrink and for healing from the disease. Lord, heal us all – mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. In Jesus name, amen.
