Endure to the End

Good morning! Today we are reading Matthew chapter 24:4-14. As we read, Jesus reveals his response to the disciples two questions in verse 3, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?” Enjoy today’s reading and have a wonderful day .

Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations[all people] will hear it; and then the end will come.” – Matthew 24:9-14 NLT

Today, we find hope in verses 13-14:

  • 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
  • 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations[all people] will hear it; and then the end will come.

Sisters and brothers, let me encourage you to stay focused and continue to serve the Lord – don’t turn away. In whatever gift or capacity He has given you, use it to serve Him and His people. Spread the gospel message (Good News) so that all nations and all people will hear it. Keep trusting and pressing forward.

For those who have become complacent or have turned away, the Lord is faithful and He is ready for you to return to your first love. Will you awake from your slumber and return? I am praying that you will.

Father God, thank you for your constant hand on us. Thank you for your precious thoughts about us. Lord Jesus, the cost of following you is nothing compared to the death you experienced on the cross for our sins and our salvation. Lord, you were hated first and we are not greater than you. So Lord, as we continue to follow you strengthen us on this journey. Teach us to be listeners who listen and seekers who find you everyday. Lord, you are the sustainer of our lives. You hold us together when we feel we simply cannot make it through another trial. Lord, forgive us for the times that we strayed away from you and your Word. Lord, we don’t want to be complacent or unusable. Lord, sustain us today as we encounter situations that are beyond our control. Lord, you are maker of heaven and earth, Lord we trust you with our lives and these situations we are in. Lord, we trust you will work all these things out for our good. Grow us into the people that you desire for us to be. Lord, we want to endure until the day you return or call us home. Lord, soften our hearts and transform our minds to follow and be more like you. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep praying, the Lord hears you! Keep seeking! Keep trusting the process!
