“But very early on Sunday morning[a] the women went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. 3 So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.
5 The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” – Luke 24:1-6a NLT
Sisters and brothers, stop looking among the dead when Christ is alive. He desires for us to live. He came so that we may have life and live it abundantly. Trust His love for you! Because He is risen we have eternal hope.
1 Peter 1:3-5 reminds us of our eternal hope and 1:6-8 reminds us that our current trials build our faith.
“3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
6 So be truly glad.[b] There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”
No matter what you are going through Jesus Christ is still on the throne. May the Lord give you strength through your trials, so that you will come out more refined than gold.
Happy Resurrection day! He is risen!
Father God thank you for another day. Thank you for another opportunity to remember all that you have done for us. Lord, you have blessed us with so much. Lord, forgive us for the times when we sinned against you (knowingly and unknowingly). Lord, we desire to live for you. Lord, thank you for the eternal hope we have in you. Help us to endure the trials we are facing and strengthen our faith more each day. Lord, we trust the process that will refine us and make us purer than gold. Lord, heal your people and our land. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep praying, the Lord hears you! Keep seeking! Keep trusting the process!
