Happy Friday! Today is the final day of the traditional work week and the day to cover the final verse (6) in 2 Corinthians chapter ten, verses 3-6. I pray that you have a wonderful Friday and that God covers you today and throughout the weekend. Enjoy today’s reading.
“3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.” – 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NLT
Paul concludes these verses with a bit of patience and optimism, saying after you have become fully obedient. Meaning the Corinthian church was struggling with their obedience to Christ, but eventually they would become fully obedient. Paul was adamant about punishing the false apostles/teachers who were misleading the flock. It was his mission to avenge the Lord and the church once the members of the Corinthian church was restored in faith and the word of God.
Sisters and brothers, there are times when we struggle with obedience to Christ. We sometimes struggle with hearing from God and then there are times we hear from God and act as if we don’t hear. Sisters and brothers, I want to encourage you to listen and stay attuned to what God is calling you to do. Staying attuned is beyond what your purpose is, but it is more the act of obedience and submission to what God is saying to us each day. Listen for His unique voice and direction.
Questions for you to ponder on:
- What are you struggling with today?
- What has God said about that/those struggle?
- Are you ready to be obedient to Christ’s direction?
- Are you ready to become fully obedient to Christ and unswayed by popular culture or false teachers?
Today is the day to begin to align your will with God’s will. Live in obedience. ❤
Father God, we thank you for this week. We thank you for another opportunity to serve you and your people. Lord, we thank you for making us bold and for providing insight and wisdom. Lord, thank you for freedom in Christ Jesus. Lord, forgive us of our sins. Lord, forgive us for the times when we heard you – sometimes loud and clear, but we ignored what you had to say. Lord, we want to be obedient to your word and your voice. Lord, remove our rebellious thoughts. Lord, humble us to hear from you. Lord, give us a willing spirit, heart and mind to do what you direct us to do. Lord, help us to love our enemies and others around us. Help us to be a true reflection of our Father in heaven. Lord, we pray for new believers to be strengthened in the word. Lord, we pray for their families and loved ones to come to know you as their personal Savior. Lord, replenish us daily with your love, grace, compassion and mercy. Lord, we surrender our will to you, direct our steps. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
