Destroy The Obstacle

Good morning! We are continuing our reading in 2 Corinthians chapter ten verses 3-6. Yesterday, we focused on verses 3-4, which explained what weapons we use to knock down strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. Today, we will focus on verse five. Enjoy your reading.

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.

Today we are focusing our reading on 2 Corinthians chapter ten, verse 5,We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.” NLT

Paul was facing many obstacles as he preached the Good News. He faced many leaders who were involved in the church for money and authority. He had false teachers and leaders miss guiding and creating chaos and division in the church. His mission was to destroy the obstacles that stood between the people knowing God and to get them on track or back on track with understanding the Good News (gospel message).

Sisters and brothers, there will be obstacles in our lives that will try to deter us from following Christ. There will always be critics of the faith and your faithfulness to Christ, but we can’t let their lack of knowledge sway our beliefs or walk with Christ. Our personal walk with Christ is visual evidence to believers and nonbelievers alike that Christ is head of our lives. It’s our testimony that breaks down barriers/shame that show people who and how powerful Christ is and what his saving grace has done in our lives. We not only need to capture every thought and make it obedient. But we must stand against things/thoughts that try to separate us from God and become or continue to be obedient to the word.

However, without God’s mighty weapons we are defenseless against the attacks and arguments against the knowledge of God. We may put up a good fight, but the real strength and power comes from the word of God and His divine power.

Father God, thank you for your grace and mercy in our lives. Thank you for the peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, your word is true and active. Lord, store your word in our hearts and activate it in such a way that we follow you and remain obedient to your word. Lord, remove obstacles and barriers in our lives that keep us trapped in the same stage that we were in when we first became believers. Lord, ignite the flames/passion that we had on that day we said yes to becoming a Christian and following you. Lord, we want to be on fire for you and the things of you. Equip us, grow us and suit us up in your mighty armor so that we can lead others to you. Lord, fill us up with more of You. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
