Good morning! The day is just beginning, and the Lord has already gone before us. Stay encouraged Jesus came for us and He will be with you today. Join me as we continue in Matthew chapter 27.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 27:27-31 NLT
“27 Some of the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into their headquarters and called out the entire regiment. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him. 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter.  Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”  30 And they spit on him and grabbed the stick and struck him on the head with it. 31 When they were finally tired of mocking him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him again. Then they led him away to be crucified.”

REFLECTION
The character of Jesus during this time was unshaken. He still had the power to call upon the Father (God) to send his angels and deliver him, but he endured all of this for us.

Brothers and sisters, may our character display a new life in Christ Jesus, a character that is unshaken and prayerfully engaged in the purpose/mission we have been called to undertake while we are in this world.

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for waking us up this morning. Lord, thank you for loving us so much that you endured all those conditions for us. Lord, you are amazing. Continue to work in our hearts and minds to be more like you. Lord, even on our best days we are not perfect, but praise God you are and you are perfecting us daily. Lord, strengthen us through the storms and help us as we overcome situations in our lives through your strength. Lord, we know that you are able to heal the sick, restore sight to the blind, perform miracles, and set captives free. Lord, we ask that you do all those things for our brothers and sisters, our neighbors and friends, the poor and marginalized, the middle class, and the rich. Lord, you know our hearts – align it to yours. Continue to comfort those who are grieving. Bless those seeking employment with jobs that sustain their needs. Lord, cover us as we go into work and give us peace and favor as we seek you for discernment. Lord, speak through us. Lord cover all the children as they go to and from school. Be with the church and may we all be follow your lead.

In Jesus name, Amen!

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
