Happy Thursday! Today we will begin reading Matthew chapter 25. If you remember chapter 24 the disciples asked Jesus two questions (found in verse 3):
• When will all this happen?
• What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?
Jesus responded to the two questions throughout chapter 24, in chapter 25 Jesus gave examples to help the disciples (and us now) to understand His message. Jesus is an awesome teacher. Join me over the next week as we read the lessons via parables that Jesus gave the disciples.
Bible Verse – Matthew 25:1-6 NLT
“1 Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, 4 but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. 5 When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. 6 “At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’
Reflection
Brothers and sisters, preparation for the Lord’s return is necessary. You can’t live off of someone else’s salvation and make it into the kingdom, it doesn’t work that way. You must believe and accept Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
When the Lord comes, will you be ready?
Don’t wait until it is too late, dont miss your opportunity for eternal life. His arms are open and He loves you.
Brothers and sisters, don’t let today pass without accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Pray: Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, Lord forgive me of my sins, I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose again so that I might be saved. Lord save me from eternal separation from God. I believe and accept You as my Savior and as Lord over my life. Thank you for providing a way for me. Thank you for making a way for me to have a personal relationship with You. Thank you for the free gift of eternal life. Lord, I choose to follow you all the days of my life. In Jesus name, amen.
Father God, we thank you for those who accepted Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Lord, we pray for those who have not made a decision to accept you as their Lord and Savior. Lord, continue to work in the hearts of those that do not know you or do not believe or have not heard about you. Lord, lead them to understanding and other Christians who know you and follow you with an obedient heart. Lord, equip each reader with the necessary knowledge and understanding to share your message of salvation in truth, love, and compassion with others.
Lord, we continue to lift up those who are struggling with pain, and we ask for the pain to decrease and to be managed well, but Lord – honestly I pray for the pain to be removed in Jesus name. Lord, continue to comfort those with broken hearts and mend them the only way you can. Lord, give them the strength that they need to heal, live, get up, and to trust you.
Lord, lead us today. Go before us and cover us with your peace , safety and favor. Lord, direct our steps and teach us the way to go. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
