Good morning! Today is a new day. Praise God, he has given us another day. May the Lord bless and keep you today. Enjoy today’s reading.
Bible verse – 1 Peter 1:10-12 NLT
“10 This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. 11 They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward.
12 They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.”
Reflection
Do you recall the first time you decided to follow Christ? Do you remember where you were and what you were doing? I remember the times when I confessed my faith, but nothing campares to the day I surrendered my own will to Christ’s will. That day I said Lord, it is all yours I’m not turning back. That was the day, in my mid-to-late 20s (mind you, I had professed to be a Christian since I was six years old) when my life changed forever. It took a little while for my character to catch up, but I thank God for the changes he has made in me. Even when the road was rough, I knew I would rather be in Christ and have a reflection of Christ in me than that of the world. I’m not going back!
How about you? Do you remember the day you learned about salvation? Do you remember the day you believed in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as Lord of your life? Do you recall the final act and day when you said, Lord I confessed to be a Christian, but I am not behaving as such and you asked the Lord to change you from the inside out?
For some of us we are still growing, learning and changing, but if you are truly ready to go beyond the words ‘I am saved’ and are ready to surrender your will, your attitude, your future and ask Jesus to completely take the lead, PRAISE GOD. He has been waiting on you.
Mark today, as the day God the Father, Jesus the son of God, and the Holy Spirit took reign of your life. I promise if you really do, your life will never be the same. Trust him! Salvation is yours. Walk in your purpose.
Prayer
Father God, thank you for salvation. Thank you for the messages sent by the prophets, disciples, apostles and Jesus. Lord thank you for the great news of the Good News. Lord, thank you for forgiving us when we were dead in our sins. Thank you for new life in Christ Jesus – our only hope. Lord, as we go throughout the day remind us of your love toward us. Encourage our spirit and direct our thoughts. Lord, pour out forgiveness in our hearts, lead us with your steady hand and pierce our hearts to love as you love. Lord, equip us for the task ahead and make us more like you. Lord, strengthen our faith and transform our minds to be more aligned with your love and compassion. Lord, help us to keep God first in everything. Remind us that we can lean on you in the midst of our most trying situations knowing you will calm the storms in our hearts and steady our footing along the journey. Lord, we pray for those who don’t have hope, and we trust that you will send one of your workers to bear witness to your truth, and Lord if you appoint us the task may all glory and honor be given to you. Lord, use us daily to convey your message of salvation, deliverance and forgiveness. Lord, remove hate from our hearts and bitterness from our souls. Let our actions reflect Christ in us. Change us, Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
