Happy Wednesday! Today we conclude our review of Colossians chapter four. The book of Colossians certainly blessed me and I hope it blessed you too. May the Lord bless you and keep you today.

Bible verse – Colossians 4:16-18 NLT

“¹⁶ After you have read this letter, pass it on to the church at Laodicea so they can read it, too. And you should read the letter I wrote to them.

¹⁷ And say to Archippus, “Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you.”

¹⁸ HERE IS MY GREETING IN MY OWN HANDWRITING—PAUL.

Remember my chains. May God’s grace be with you.”

Reflection

Apostle Paul concluded the letter to the Colosse believers, which is known as the book of Colossians with three final requests:

• Share the letter and read the other letter
• Remind Archippus to carry out the ministry the Lord gave him
• Remember his chains

Sisters and brothers, Apostle Paul wrote powerful words throughout the New Testament. Not only was the letter shared with Laodicea it was shared with the world. Not only do we have the book of Colossians available for us to read, but there are 65 more books in the Bible that we should read.

Apostle Paul also encouraged believers in their faith, challenged them to become mature in Christ and inspite of his imprisonment he proceeded to share the gospel message with anyone who would listen or read.

I wonder what was going on with Archippus that Apostle Paul made a point to remind him to carry out the ministry the Lord gave him. Sisters and brothers, I don’t know what is going on in your life, but let me remind you not to be shaken or discouraged – carry out the ministry the Lord gave you. Someone is waiting for you.

Finally, remember the believers who have gone before you. Remember the believers who stand in faith with you right now. When you feel discouraged or disconnected remember the trials of other believers, look at how they overcame through prayer and faith in the Lord – you can too.

Questions to ponder:

• Who do you need to share the Good News/gospel message with? ___________
• What ministry has the Lord given to you?______ Are you ready to carry it out? _______
• Will you pray for believers and non-believers in and out of your area of influence? _______

Prayer

Father God thank you for another glorious morning. Your faithfulness never ceases. Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of salvation and for the forgiveness of sin. Thank you for making a way for the Holy Spirit to come and live within us. We thank you for never giving up on us. We thank you for renewing our minds and for calling us back to you when we strayed away. Lord, continue Your mighty transformational work within us – our character, our attitudes, and in the way we demonstrate love to others. Lord, help us to share the truth of the Good News with others. Help us to live out and walk in faith toward the ministry you have given us. Lord, you are the God of possible, help us to lean-to you for strength and guidance as we pursue what you have called us to. Lord, heal your church, humble believers and non-believers, and let our lives reflect you and bring you glory. In Jesus name, amen.
