Good morning! I know yesterday had its own worries. While voting day in America is over, I want to encourage you in the faith today that no matter what God still rules and reigns. So again, I am deviating from Acts 20 to provide encouragement in this season. Join me as we read from Colossians 3. Let us meditate upon these verses.
Bible Verse
“12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”
Just a few words:
I know this season has been difficult. I know you have been tried in many ways. I know you may be tired and may be asking the Lord, what is next. Sisters and brothers, I want to encourage you to seek the Lord with your raw emotions and allow space for him to respond to your comments/prayers, to calm your heart and to remind you that He is still God over all things.
Let Him/His Holy Spirit work within you.
God’s not done, yet. His plan is always better than our own.
Prayer
Father God we thank you for today. We thank you for your mercy and endless grace toward us. Lord, we know we do not deserve all the things that you have done for us, but we are grateful for your mercies. Lord, we haven’t been perfect – Lord only you are perfect, but we desire to be a better reflection of you in this world. Lord, as we await all the official results, Lord help us to keep our eyes focused on you and your plan for this nation, for our families, and for believers. Lord, calm our hearts and spirits. Lord, do not let us lose hope. Lord, continue to remove the anxiety that is weighing on many hearts and minds. Lord, provide strength to those who feel weak and fill them with your power. Lord, for the past few months it has been difficult to make allowances for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offended us. Lord, help us to remember that You forgave us, so Lord help us to forgive others. Help us to be reconciled to our sisters and brothers in the faith, and trust You to do marvelous and wonderful work in spite of who is in the White House in January. Lord, help those in need. Lord, help us to be filled with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Lord, clothe us with Your love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. Lord, we trust that You have heard the cries of your children and that you have seen the wickedness in the land, help us all to live in peace. Lord, we are thankful that our hope is not in a president elected by man/woman, but it is in you alone. Have your way. We surrender our lives and America to you. In Jesus name, amen.
