Lord and Messiah

Good morning! Happy National Day of Prayer. Today is a day marked throughout the nation as a day to pray. It is a blessing that we have an opportunity to participate and know that people will be praying for our nation, world, communities and homes. You can also partake in the day. Make sure you set aside time to pray today to speak to and hear from our Lord who hears and answers prayers. Join me today as we continue to read Acts chapter 2 verses 29 through 36. Have a wonderful day.

29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay. 32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear. 34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies
    a footstool for your feet.”’[f]

36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” – Acts 2:29-36 NLT

Sisters and brothers, the Holy Spirit was flowing through Peter as he shared the truth with the people. In verses 32 and 33, Peter said: “God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. 33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.”

He gave the listeners proof that God made Jesus, both Lord and Messiah. He also confirmed to the people where the Holy Spirit came from and connected it to what the people saw and heard. Further defending the fact that they were not drunk and that the promise of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled and witnessed by many.

Sisters and brothers, the Holy Spirit is living and acting in the earth. If you are a believer, the Holy Spirit is ready to actively move inside of you to fulfill God’s purposes through you. There is no need to be fearful of the opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to start working through you. This is the time to recognize the power you have in Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit to share the word of God with others. Wherever you are weak, you will be strong because of the power of Christ working in you (2 Corinthians 12:9-11).

Father God thank you for your word today. Father God thank you for using Peter to establish the church. Father God thank you for your son Jesus Christ and for the Holy Spirit. Lord, you knew exactly what we needed. Lord, don’t let us be like some of those who heard the truth but refused to believe. Lord, ignite passion into our souls. Direct us on how to use the gifts and talents that you have given us to fulfill our purpose here on earth. Lord, we don’t want to fall short or leave one blessing untouched. Lord, work in us and heal areas in our hearts and minds that have been turned off by the fear of not truly knowing or understanding the work of the Holy Spirit. Lord, we want to experience all that you have for us. Begin your work in us. In the precious name of Jesus, we ask all these things, amen.

“Lord, work in us and heal areas in our hearts and minds that have been turned off by the fear of not truly knowing or understanding the work of the Holy Spirit.” I pray this for all people today. It’s so easy for us to lose that light, especially when we are being conditioned to distance ourselves from each other, and our church homes have been shut down-but your messages are coming through. I hear your words and they are planted deep. THANK YOU MARY. God Bless.
