Good morning! Join me today as we finish the final chapter and verses in 2 Corinthians. I’m not certain which book in the Bible to begin reading next week, but I’m taking suggestions. Share your suggestions in the comments. Have a wonderful day! Stay well. Find harmony and peace.
“Dear brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
12 Greet each other with a sacred kiss. 13 All of God’s people here send you their greetings.
14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” – 2 Corinthians 13:11-14 NLT
Inspite of the Corinthians behavior toward Paul, he continued to love and encourage them. He desired for them to find freedom in Christ and to love others.
Sisters and brothers, each morning is a new opportunity to show love to someone. Paul left a few instructions for the Corinthians in his letter that highlighted joy, maturity, encouragement, harmony and peace, but I believe those instructions are for us too – especially during this Covid-19 pandemic.
Things to ponder:
- How can you be more joyful? __________
- What steps will you take to grow in spiritual maturity? ___________
- Who will you encourage someone today? ___________
- How will you take steps to secure harmony and peace around you (e.g., things you say, the people around you, etc.)? ___________
As you respond to those questions, may the God of love and peace direct you and help you accomplish those things.
Father God, there are so many areas in our lives that challenge us. At times, we get hit from all directions and we feel like we may drown in the midst of those situations. However, Lord you have proven that even the worst storms leave rainbows and blue skies. Lord, today we ask that you touch those who are in the storm or coming out of a storm. Lord, heal their bodies, reset their minds with your peace. Lord, your word says your are our protector and shield. We trust You and Your word. Lord, help us to never lose sight of who You are – the Great I Am. Lord, help us to see and feel the joy of knowing you. Lord, continue to stretch us and grow us spiritually and mature us in our relationship with you. Lord, help us to encourage others and ourselves in the faith. Be our rock and our fortress. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep praying, the Lord hears you! Keep seeking! Keep trusting the process!
