Happy Monday! Have you ever been in a situation when you had to choose which side you were on? Maybe it was the Celtics versus the Cavaliers, when you were confident the star player would come through and win. Maybe it was a game of tug-of-war as a kid, when you thought the strongest person was on your side, but your team lost. Sometimes in life, it seems like all the odds are against us, but if we step back for a moment we will see – we have the strongest player on our side. No one has a greater come back story – than the One who is coming back again for us. Enjoy today’s devotion and your day.
“1 What if the Lord had not been on our side?
Let all Israel repeat:
2 What if the Lord had not been on our side
when people attacked us?
3 They would have swallowed us alive
in their burning anger.
4 The waters would have engulfed us;
a torrent would have overwhelmed us.
5 Yes, the raging waters of their fury
would have overwhelmed our very lives.
6 Praise the Lord,
who did not let their teeth tear us apart!
7 We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap.
The trap is broken, and we are free!
8 Our help is from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:1-8 NLT
Where would you be today, if the Lord was not on your side?
No matter what we are facing today, know that the Lord is on our side. We may not understand the tribulations or the unexpected things that occur, but as we put our hope in the Lord we can trust he is on our side and he is working things out for our good.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 NLT
Father God, thank you for today. Thank you for loving us and for being on our side. Lord, thank you for protecting and keeping us. Lord, you are our strong tower and our place of refuge and peace. Lord, strengthen us when we feel overwhelmed and release us from the chains of fear. Lord, guide us as we go through this day and help us to put our complete trust in you. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
