Good morning! The verses we will read today remind me of a verse that I read last night at Bible study. It was Revelations 12:11, “They overcame him (the accuser) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”
“16 Come and listen, all you who fear God,
and I will tell you what he did for me.
17 For I cried out to him for help,
praising him as I spoke.
18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened.
19 But God did listen!
He paid attention to my prayer.
20 Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer
or withdraw his unfailing love from me.” Psalm 66:16-20 NLT
The enemy enjoys holding us captive. He tries to keep us quiet and tells us lies so that we become too fearful of sharing what the Lord has done for us – the words of our testimony.
It is time for us to open our eyes. The enemy has a pattern of reminding us that we aren’t good enough, incapable of change, that we have a spotted past and everyone will judge us. However, Jesus Christ (not because we deserve it, but because he loves us) died on the cross for our sins so that we may be reconciled to God. If you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior, repented and turned away from your sins, then through Christ Jesus you are good enough, the Holy Spirit can and will change you, your past is forgiven and Jesus is our mediator between God. (see Hebrews 12:23-24)
When the enemy starts talking, respond with the word/promises of God:
- I am forgiven
- I am loved
- I am chosen
- I am worthy
- I am the head and not the tail
- I am holy, because he is holy
Brothers and sisters, don’t be held in bondage any longer – there is power in your testimony. Glorify Him through his redemption and overcome (the enemy and his schemes) by sharing your testimony.
Father God, we thank you for being obedient unto death. Thank you for giving your life so that we may have life and live it abundantly. Lord, thank you for forgiving us of our sins and canceling a debt we could never repay. Lord, you have shown us over and over again how much you love us and we thank you for setting us free from our past. Lord, direct our present and our future. Lord, we want to be free from the bondage of our past and live our lives for you. Lord, restore us and make us whole – not because we deserve it, but because of who you are, what your word says and because you love us with an unconditional and unfailing love. Lord, open our eyes and ears so that we may see and hear you. Lord, heal us and change us. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
