Good morning! While all scripture is good, I plan to spend a few days covering Psalm 27. The Psalmist David wrote it beautifully.
“1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? 2 When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. 3 Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. 4 The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. 5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. 6 Then I will hold my head high above my enemies who surround me. At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the Lord with music.” (Psalm 27:1-6 NLT)
Lord, you are amazing. We read your word over and over again, and no one can compare to you. No one will ever be greater than you.
I heard Pastor – Dr. Tony Evans say, we trust God with our eternity in heaven, but we don’t trust him with our earthly lives (paraphrased). Sometimes we forget who is control over all things. May your trust be in the Lord, the One who can and will change any and everything.
Father God, we thank you for your love and protection. Lord, on days when things simply do not go our way – give us strength and peace to trust you and your plan for our lives. Lord, we want to be pleasing to you and we desire to trust you with every aspect of our lives. Lord, protect and keep us. Build our character and transform us to be more like you. Lord, may our light shine in the places you lead us to. May our lips sing your praise instead of our fears or disappointments. Lord, may your truth speak louder than the enemies lies. Lord, be with us today, let us feel your presence. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep seeking God’s truth! Keep trusting God’s word! Keep praying!
