His Shield of Love

Happy Thursday! As you may have noticed, we finished first (1) John and are now going through the Psalms. Did you know there are 150 chapters in the book of Psalm? As such, I will not be able to go line by line or verse by verse. However, I will highlight a few verses from the Psalms until we get to Psalm 150. I hope you continue to read along with me.

But let all who take refuge in you rejoicelet them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joyFor you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.” Psalm 5:11-12 NLT

Father God, you are our refuge and we thank you for loving us with an unconditional love. Lord, you bless us even when we don’t deserve it – you are such a loving Father. Lord, just as the Psalmist cried out, we also ask for your protection and for you to fill us with joy that only comes from you. Lord, continue to teach us your ways and fill our hearts with your love, so that we may extend love and compassion to those around us. Lord, we lift up the country of Boliva – where evangelism is being banned. Lord, we ask for you to change the heart of the leaders of that country, so that your word will continue to be shared amongst the people. Lord, we lift up missionaries in Boliva and across the world and ask that you strengthen their faith and protect them from harm – Lord, spread your protection over them. Lord, bless your people and release them from fear. Be with us as we go through this day and strengthen our faith and trust in you. Equip us for the day ahead, trusting nothing will be a surprise to you and that you will see us through this day too.  Help us to be a light and to walk in obedience to your word. In Jesus name, Amen!

Keep God first! Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
