Don’t Be Surprised

Happy Monday! We are continuing our reading of 1 John chapter 3.

We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and, if the world hates you. If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. Anyone who hates another brother or sister is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them. 1 John 3:12-15 NLT.

Father God, thank you for the love you have shown us. Thank you for exposing the condition of our heart. Lord, continue to reveal to us areas in our lives where we struggle to love. May we grow into the mature Christians you desire for us to be. Lord, we want to be living examples of your love. Lord, continue to work on our hearts and extract the dead and unusable content so that we may function in the fullness of you. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
