Do You Love Me

Happy Friday! Today’s verse is short, but sometimes very difficult to do. Enjoy!

This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another.” 1 John 3:11 NLT

Loving one another is difficult when you don’t know how to love or when you have been hurt by the words I love you or the perception of what i love you means.

God declares that he loves us with a jealous love. He desires for us to be in relationship with him. He loves us so much that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so that if we believe and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we will be saved and reconciled to God. No one has or will show us a greater love. However, God will show us how to love others and that is demonstrated throughout the Bible and with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Question: Who do you have a hard time loving? ______  Why is it difficult to love that person? ______

Pray for that person by name and continue to pray for that person, until God changes your heart toward them.

Ponder: Why is it difficult for others to love you? ________

Pray for the Lord to reveal the root of that fill-in the blank. Ask the Lord to heal and transform you in that/those areas.

Father God, we thank you for your love toward us. Thank you for showing us how to love others. Lord, there are times when it is difficult to love one another. Lord, help us in that area. Lord, help us to display compassion and care as you do. Lord, give us wisdom as we seek ways to love – ways that are healthy and pleasing to you. Lord, be with us today as we seek opportunities to love others. Lord, heal the broken areas of our lives so that we may feel the fullness of your love and overflow it into others. Lord, continue to change us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
