Happy Wednesday! Enjoy the forgiveness he freely gives.
“If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.” 1 John 1:8-10NLT
Our God is faithful, just, gracious and willing to forgive us of our sins. He sent his son, who was without sin, who was blameless and unblemished, who was the perfect sacrifice, whose blood was shed on the cross, who took on the weight of our sins, then died on the cross, was buried, on the third day rose from the grave (defeating death), ascended and is alive seated on the right hand of the Father, so that when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, we may be forgiven and reconciled to God. Therefore, if we want to be cleansed from all wickedness/sin, we don’t need to wait until Sunday to confess our sins. We can confess our sins right now and ask for forgiveness.
Will you choose today to ask for forgiveness and turn away from your sin? _______
If so, pray: Father God, I know that I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive me of my sins. I believe you died on the cross and rose from the grave for my sins. Lord, come into my heart and life and be my personal Savior. Lord, release me from the sins that have me bound, cleanse me and restore me back to you.
The Lord loves you more than you will ever know. He is the only one who can forgive our sins.
Lord God, I’m so grateful that Jesus alone, was the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Thank you for your love and kindness toward us. There is no one greater than you. There is no one but you, oh Lord, who knows the depths of our sins or our struggles to turn away from them and sin no more. But Lord, because of you there is forgiveness and restoration – Lord, continue to change us! Lord, we know all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called together for his purpose (Romans 8:28 NLT), so Lord, we are trusting that you will work out our past and develop us in the present to equip us to be used for your glory. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
