Good morning! Yesterday, we discussed having a firm foundation and materials used to build a sturdy foundation. We focused on gold, silver and jewels that would last versus wood, hay or straw that could be quickly destroyed. Join me as we continue in 1 Corinthians chapter 3.
Bible Verse – 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NLT
“16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.”
Reflection
Sisters and brothers, we are all the body of the church. If the structure/foundation is weak (divided against one another) then it is bound to collapse.
Paul reminds us that this should not happen because the Spirit of God lives within us. We are God’s temple and we should not be easily led astray by false ministers.
If the Spirit of God lives within us and we are God’s temple then our behavior should reflect it. Our foundation should be built on the truth of the gospel and reflect the love of God. Sisters and brothers, love one another, grow in faith and build one another up.
Questions to ponder:
- Are you allowing God to use you in the church?
- If so, are you ensuring that you are not creating division in the church/body of believers?
- Knowing the Spirit of God lives in you, how has your life changed? How do you desire for your life to continue to change and flourish in the Lord/church?
Prayer
Father God, thank you for having mercy on our lives and for your endless patience and grace. Father, no one loves us like you do. Lord, thank you for your unconditional love. Lord, we desire to be a reflection of you in the world. We know on our own we will fail, but in you and because of you we know that we can change. Lord, we surrender our lives and will to you. We love you and accept you as the Lord over our lives. Lord, be with us today as we seek your will for our lives. Direct us and make us whole in you. Lord, touch every part of us from the hair on our heads down to our feet. Give us a fresh anointing and renew our spirit. Lord, be with the churches around the world and help them to flourish in your word, teaching, discipling, and spiritually guiding your flock. Lord, may their work be evident that you are involved in every detail. Equip the churches to seek the lost, least and last but also grow and develop their congregation to reach out beyond the walls of the church to transform the world. Lord, continue to work in us. In Jesus name, amen.
Keep praying! Keep Trusting! Keep believing!
