Good morning! There are many gifts that we have in our possession. We use many of our gifts on a daily basis and sometimes we use them without knowing. However, each gift that we have is a valuable asset to the kingdom of God. Today we will begin our reading in Matthew chapter 25 verses 14-18. Enjoy your reading and your day..
BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 25:14-18 NLT
“14 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. 15 He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.
16 “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more. 17 The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more. 18 But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.”
REFLECTION
In these verses Jesus is the Master. He entrusted each of His servants with money, dividing it in proportion to their abilities. While we will read more on this parable tomorrow and the day after, I want you to ponder on two questions:
- What has the Lord entrusted you with until He returns? (e.g., spiritual gifts, finances, intellect, parenting kids, being a spouse, etc.)
- How will you serve the master with what He has entrusted you with while He is away?
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for your love and faithfulness. Lord, thank you for all the things you have entrusted us with. Lord, forgive us for being selfish with the things you have entrusted us with. Lord, deliver us from the pit that holds us back and frightens us from serving you with our whole heart. Lord, give us clarity on how to use the things you have given us to advance the Kingdom of God. Lord, if it’s being a godly mother to raise kingdom kids, then help us and equip us to be the mothers you have called us to be. If it’s to be a godly man, father, son, head of the household, then equip our men with the tools and courage to follow you so that their entire household will follow. So that their example will lead to your glory and praise. Lord, if it is a spiritual gift that you have given us to improve communities, to speak life into others, to develop businesses to provide employment or assistance to those in need, help us to do it well. If it’s ministry, Lord equip your servants with humility, wisdom, discernment, discipline and courage to share your truth with the lost and found. Lord, while we wait for your return we want to be busy about your business. Lord, refresh our thinking and restore us back to you, so that we will remain focused on what you are calling us to do. Keep transforming us to be more like you.
Lord, go before us today. Ensure that we are properly suited in the Armor of God. Make sure each piece is activated and working well. Cover our families and put a hedge of protection around us, especially our children, children’s children, and children around the world. Lord, usher your peace through our homes, schools, communities and country.
In Jesus name, amen.
