Only One Choice

Happy Wednesday! In our society, it is easy to see a struggle between right and wrong, left and right, his side vs. her side, and truth against the “new” truth – which is used to deceive people. While it may be difficult to see or understand the truth, we have an opportunity to be filled with truth and light. Earlier this week, we read about the Pharisees’ attempts to discredit Jesus and Jesus addressing each point further clarifying who he was/is and all that He accomplished was by the power of the Spirit of God. Join me as we continue in Matthew chapter 12.

Bible Verse – Matthew 12:30-32 NLT
30 “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.
31 “So I tell you, every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven—except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which will never be forgiven. 32Anyone who speaks against the Son of Man can be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, either in this world or in the world to come.”

Reflection
As mentioned in verses 24-29, a kingdom divided is doomed or a town/family splintered by feuding will not stand. In today’s verses, Jesus further clarifies that those who oppose him are against him, and there is no in between.

Brothers and sisters, we have to decide which side we are on. Are we on the side of politicians or Christ? Are we on the side of racism or Christ? Are we on the side of the world or Christ?

We have two choices: 1) repent of our sins, believe and receive/accept Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, or 2) live our life apart from Christ.

Only one will lead to eternal life. Which option will you choose? ________

Prayer
Father God, we thank you for today. We thank you for another opportunity to serve you and share your love with others. Lord, there are so many things that oppose your truth, but Lord we believe your word is true. Lord, forgive us when we fall short of following you. Lord, we believe that you are the greatest in all the earth. Lord, we are for you, we are with you and we are working with you. Lord, come into our hearts. Lord, strengthen our faith and transform our minds to understand and receive what you are teaching us. Lord, soften our hearts so that they will be aligned to your will. Lord, be with us and guide us in all our ways.

Lord, we pray for the woman recovering from surgery. Lord, manage her pain and comfort her as she recovers. Lord, be with the woman whose husband is not well and is in decline. Lord, continue to give her strength and peace as she leans on you in this difficult time. Lord, we continue our prayers for those suffering from chronic illness and pain. Lord, heal and work through them. Let each day get better for them as they navigate through their pain. Lord, we pray for the man who fell and is recovering from injuries related to his fall. Lord, ease his pain and let him heal quickly and completely.

Lord, be with those who are ill with respiratory illnesses. Lord, get them the medicine and medical attention that they need to clear up the congestion in their lungs, nose, head, and ears. Lord, be with all the students who are coming to the end of their school year. Help them to end the year well. Direct their steps and keep them safe.

Lord, help us to always choose you first. In Jesus name, amen.
