He Healed Them

Good morning! Have you ever experienced something amazing or saw something that was out of the ordinary and you couldn’t wait to tell everyone you knew and the stranger next you?

May the Lord continue to show and prove to you that He is faithful. Have a wonderful day, enjoy today’s devotion.

BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 9:18-26 NLT
“18 As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. “My daughter has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.”

19 So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him. 20 Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe, 21 for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
22 Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
23 When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, he saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music. 24 “Get out!” he told them. “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.” But the crowd laughed at him. 25 After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!  26 The report of this miracle swept through the entire countryside.”

REFLECTION
Two powerful moments:

  • The child’s father, “but you can bring her back to life…if you lay your hand on her.”
  • The woman, for she thought, “if I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”

Two Incredible moments of faith:

  • Your faith has made you well. The woman was healed.
  • The girl wasn’t dead she was only asleep. He took her by the hand and she stood up.

God is still in the business of performing miracles. He sees our pain and understands our heart. We may not always receive the outcome we desire, but let us not lose faith in His power and ability to change situations and heal people today, right now and in this life time.

  • Today, is something challenging your faith? ______
  • Is there something that you need to trust the Lord with?_______

PRAYER
Father God, you are our healer and promise keeper. Lord, thank you for being faithful to your word. Lord, thank you for your grace, compassion and healing power. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown). Lord, forgive us when we doubt you. Lord, forgive us when things don’t go according to our plan and we lose our hope in you. Lord, we ask you now to draw us nearer to you. Lord, whatever you have in store for us, don’t let us lose our faith and trust in you – keep our eyes and our hearts focused on you.

Lord, we pray for those whose hearts are broken because their loved ones were not healed on this earth. Lord, we thank you for their lives and the time that you gave them with us. Lord, we thank you for the promise for believers knowing that if they were in Christ you took our loved one home to be with you and we will see them again. Lord, you are Alpha and Omega, you know exactly what you are doing. However, Lord continue to strengthen us, teach us to lean on you and trust your plan. Lord, keep us free from temporary things (e.g., addictive devices, etc.), that distract us from our pain. Lord, hold us and walk us through our pain, heal us and make us stronger because of who you are and whose we are.

Lord, touch the sick and those suffering with chronic pain and illness, and heal them in Jesus name. Continue to perform miracles in the eyes of believers and non-believers so that we may see your work and glorify your name. In Jesus name, amen.
