Good morning! The Lord shines bright in the darkest moments of life. Trust Him to lead us out of the darkness, strengthen our faith and change our hearts to live with purpose and hope.
BIBLE VERSE – Matthew 4:12-17 NLT
“12 When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee. 13 He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 This fulfilled what God said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali, beside the sea, beyond the Jordan River, in Galilee where so many Gentiles live, 16 the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.”[Isaiah 9:1-2]
17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.””
REFLECTION
Although John was arrested, Jesus knew he had work to accomplish. He wasn’t detoured by John’s arrest, He remained focused on God’s greater plan and began to preach.
Brothers and sisters, it’s never too late to repent of our sins, turn to God and pursue His plan for our lives.
Are you ready? __________
PRAYER
Father God, thank you for this morning. Thank you for coming to save us. Lord, thank you for making away for us to repent and turn away from our sins. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown). Lord, we want to honor you in everything that we do. Help us to be a light in someone’s life. Help us to shine bright in the darkness and glorify you and your name. Lord, help us to draw near to you.
Lord, continue your good work in us. Lord, teach us to pursue what you have called us to do in excellence. Lord, fix our heart and heal the brokenness of our past. Lord, direct our steps and light our path so that we may serve you and glorify your name. Lord, we pray for the falsely imprisoned. Lord, expose the truth about their case and set them free. Lord, we pray for the thousands of children who are in detention camps and separated from their parents. Lord, change this situation and allow them to be reunited with their parents. Lord, touch our nation and open our eyes to see and do what is right in your eyes. In Jesus name, amen.
