Good morning! As we begin 2025, there is no greater way to look forward than to fix our eyes on Jesus and His promises. Join me as we continue our reading in Hebrews chapter thirteen.
Bible Verse – Hebrews 13:10-14 NLT
“10 We have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp. 12 So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood. 13 So let us go out to him, outside the camp, and bear the disgrace he bore. 14 For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.”
Reflection
The joy in knowing that the effect of Jesus’ sacrifice was to make the people holy was enough to ensure a path of redemption and restoration gives us hope. His promises and the hope for our future beyond this world is enough to feel secure and to trust Him with whatever may come.
Prayer
Father God, we thank you for your mercy and grace over our lives. We are thankful for you coming to save us. Great is your faithfulness, Lord. Lord, as we begin this new year, we ask for forgiveness of our sins (known and unknown). We ask for a greater relationship with you. We ask for strength to stand on your words and promises. We ask for peace of mind and clarity as we seek to follow you with our whole life. In Jesus name, amen.
