Faith to Build, Leave, and Obey

Good morning! Today we will continue our faith journey through the examples of individuals who followed God. Join me today as we continue our reading in Hebrews chapter 11.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 11:7-10 NLT

“7 It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.

8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.”

Reflection

Having faith in God doesn’t mean everyone will understand or agree with what God is calling you to do, but do it anyway. The reward is too great and important to allow someone else’s opinion or fears to take the place of God’s direction for your life – they’re not God and there is a reason why God gave you a particular task. Stand firm in your faith. Do what God has called you to do.

May we have the faith to build, leave, and obey.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for these examples of obedience and faith. Lord, you called these two men to follow you and you blessed them. Lord, just as you have called us, help us to embrace the call on our lives and to live in faith. Help us to step out the boat or follow you to a place you will show us. Help us to listen intently to your words and gather our thoughts to be aligned with yours. Give us strength, peace and release us from things that do not please you. Continue to build our faith. Help us to hear your warnings and act accordingly- in obedience.

Lord, remove chaos and confusion from our homes and restore families in faith and in relationship with you. Lord, wherever we need to change – change us and help us to see the changes you are making and healing us from.

Lord, heal those recovering from a stroke and other medical conditions. Lord, help those who are suffering from arthritis, ease their pain and restore mobility. Help them to with their limitations and show them what they are still capable of achieving. Continue to comfort those who are grieving. Lord, heal the hearts and help them to breathe during this painful time. Strengthen those who are seeking new employment and open opportunities for them to be successful in their new roles. Help them to be a light  wherever you send them. Be with those who are making decisions that may impact livelihoods of others. Lord, may those decisions be in alignment with you and not part of an ego response. Lord, continue to bless those who are traveling and keep them safe. Lord, begin to prepare the hearts of those who will have surgery this month. Give the peace as they trust you with all the details. In Jesus name, Amen!

That’s so beautiful. I’ve been so down lately because of the uncertainties of finding new job as this is my first time being unemployed. And the struggle gets harder every time. So reading these, is so beautiful and reminds me to keep on trusting and build my faith in the Lord. I shouldn’t have to be overwhelmed over this when I know God’s my provider but simply because to wait on the Lord. Thank you so much for this passage. Very encouraging.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰🥰
