You Are Meant For Better Things

Bible Verse – Hebrews 6:9-12 NLT

“9 Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation. 10 For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers,[b] as you still do.11 Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. 12 Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”

Reflection

Verse 10 stands out to me today, “He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers,[b] as you still do.” Now, don’t get me wrong, all our work is for God’s glory not our own. Our works alone won’t get us into heaven – our heart condition is what God sees. The beautiful thing is that God knows everything. He is the ultimate judge so we don’t have to be judge over someone else’s salvation, we are simply blessed to be able to share the message and lead others to Jesus. You are meant for all the things that come with salvation. Keep bearing a good crop.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for sending us Jesus. Thank you for the salvation that you offer to every believer. Thank you for leading us in a way that speaks to every person who desires to accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of their lives. Lord, we pray for your character and image to be found in us. Lord, we know we will not be perfect until the day that you take us home, but Lord, keep perfecting us every day. Lord, give us the wisdom to lead in love, speak the truth in love, and help us not to hinder the Christian walk or faith in others. Lord, help us to establish healthy boundaries and remove us from situations that you have not called us to and from Biblical abuse. Lord, may we not only know your word, but help us to also live it free from the bondage of sin and the enemies attempt to tell us we are not worthy. Lord, thank you for defeating the devil, and for conquering sin and death at the cross. Lord, thank you. Thank you! Lord, be with us today and over the weekend. Help us not be or become spiritually dull or indifferent. Help us to keep the faith and endure. Lord, we pray for families around the world – Lord, Jesus, may they all know you and accept you as Savior and Lord of their lives before you return. Lord, cover marriages and heal every area that is broken. Strengthen communication and give marriage partners patience, wisdom and understanding. Lord, heal those who are mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually in need of you to come through. Lord, you know the needs of your children – hear and listen to our prayers as we patiently and expectantly await your response in action. Lord, heal our nation and help those impacted by the fires and storms. Help those affected outside of our nation and give them the resources and relief that they need as well. In Jesus’ name, amen.
