Good morning! Have you ever felt a need to stop and pray for someone else? Have you ever felt like someone was praying for you? In today’s verses Apostle Paul mentioned the prayers of someone else. Join me as we continue our reading in Colossians chapter four.
Bible verse – Colossians 4:12-15 NLT
“12 Epaphras, a member of your own fellowship and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings. He always prays earnestly for you, asking God to make you strong and perfect, fully confident that you are following the whole will of God. 13 I can assure you that he prays hard for you and also for the believers in Laodicea and Hierapolis.
14 Luke, the beloved doctor, sends his greetings, and so does Demas. 15 Please give my greetings to our brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church that meets in her house.”
Reflection
Apostle Paul pointed out the fervent prayers of Epaphras. Epaphras was a faithful member of the Colossian believers and his heart for the people incited deep prayer on their behalf.
Sisters and brothers, let us pray earnestly for others. Let’s go in prayer and pray for others “asking God to make them strong and perfect, fully confident that they are following the whole will of God.“
Who are you praying for today, this week, this month is it:
- Your spouse
- Your children
- Your parents/grandparents
- Your siblings
- Your cousins
- Your aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews
- Your church, pastor, leaders and members of the church
- Your job, leadership, co-workers and clients
- Your friends, your neighbors and people you frequently see throughout the week
- The Global church, nations, leaders and the world
Whomever it is that you are praying for – be intentional about your prayers for them. Your prayers matter. Keep praying. Remember someone prayed for you.
Prayer
Father God we thank you for always loving us. We thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to save us and reconcile us back to you. Lord, you are so gracious and faithful. Lord, forgive us for the times when we have not been faithful in prayer. Forgive us for the times when we have said we will pray and have not prayed. Lord, you know the hearts of your children and our desire to draw nearer to you. Lord, help us to be intentional about our time with you, help us to be intentional about our prayers for ourselves and for others. Lord, help us to enter into a space that is filled with your presence and transforms us as we pour out our prayers to you. Lord, give us insight, wisdom and discernment during our time in prayer with you. Lord, reveal Your will for our lives and make us whole. In Jesus name, amen.
