He Sees You and Loves You

Happy Tuesday. Have you ever been in a situation where you try to do good, but people around you refuse to be good? Maybe in your youth you were with a group of kids or in a classroom where there was disobedience (usually no adult around or substitute authority) and then it happened…authority came and punished the entire group/class even though you were not involved. I know it seemed or was unfair, however today’s verses in 2 Peter describes God’s authority and ability to spot the righteous in the midst of chaos and disobedience. Join me as we continue in 2 Peter. Have a wonderful day.

BIBLE VERSE – 2 Peter 2:4-11 NLT
4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment. And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. 6 Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. 7 But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. 9 So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. 10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beingswithout so much as trembling. 11 But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lorda charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings.”

REFLECTION
Sisters and brothers, we are living in times when the gospel message is being forbidden to be read or heard in countries, a time where churches are being destroyed. We are living in a time when it seems like everyone is turning away from the scriptures and living as they seem fit. However, these verses are encouraging reminders that even when we are surrounded by wickedness, the Lord will rescue us. He knows how to take care of His children. So don’t be discouraged or be dismayed, our Lord and Savior will take care of us, protect us on the day of judgment and shield us from destruction.

Today, if you are living on the line with one foot in the world and the other on the path of righteousness, I want to encourage you to pick a side. The Lord is waiting for you to come to Him and live a life where their is true freedom, freedom in Him. Will you follow Him?______

PRAYER
Father God, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for salvation and freedom in Christ Jesus. Lord, we don’t deserve your grace and mercy, but you freely give it to us time and time again. Lord, forgive us of our sins (known and unknown). Lord, we need you in our lives daily. Cleanse us and make us whole. Lord, you know the things that we face on a daily basis. Lord, you know our struggles and our need for you to deliver us. Father we ask that you set us free from the things that keep us bond in bondage to sin, depression, anxiety, weight gain, stress, physical and emotional aliments, and anger. Lord, we want to live in the fruit of your spirit. Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit on us so that we may produce the spirit of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Lord, we want to walk in your truth. We want to be led by you and not be led astray by false teachers, or worries and cares that don’t align with your plan for us. Lord, keep us focused and walking in your mighty strength and power. Lord, may our lives glorify you. In Jesus name, amen!
