Miracles

Happy Friday! When chaos and emotions run high, we sometimes we forget miracles happen everyday. We forget about the times when God unexpectedly stepped into our situations and turned it around. Join me today as we finish our reading in Acts chapter 9. Enjoy your day and weekend – recall the times the Lord came through for you.

39 So Peter returned with them; and as soon as he arrived, they took him to the upstairs room. The room was filled with widows who were weeping and showing him the coats and other clothes Dorcas had made for them. 40 But Peter asked them all to leave the room; then he knelt and prayed. Turning to the body he said, “Get up, Tabitha.” And she opened her eyes! When she saw Peter, she sat up! 41 He gave her his hand and helped her up. Then he called in the widows and all the believers, and he presented her to them alive.

42 The news spread through the whole town, and many believed in the Lord. 43 And Peter stayed a long time in Joppa, living with Simon, a tanner of hides.” Acts 9:39-43 NLT

Reflection

When Peter received word about Tabitha, he could have easily declined the opportunity, but instead he went and the Lord used him in Joppa.

Peter’s faith and the faith of the people shined through the situation. Peter believed the Lord could heal Tabitha. The people believed the Lord could use Peter to heal Tabitha. By the grace of God Tabitha was healed and many believed.

Sisters and brothers, the Lord our God is still in the business of performing miracles and changing lives. What are you believing God can and will do? Will you trust Him in the areas where you need for Him to perform a miracle in your life or in the life of someone you know?

Keep praying and believing.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for the reminder of how gracious and merciful you are. Lord, you remind us that you can still perform miracles amongst us. Lord, we know there are times when you choose not to heal someone while they are here on earth, but thank you for reminding us that you still heal. Lord, we don’t want to deny your ability to heal. We don’t won’t to be discouraged by the times when we prayed and you did not heal someone we prayed for while they were on earth. So Lord, can you restore our faith in these areas. Lord, strengthen us in our weak areas and revive our belief and faith in you. Lord, open up our eyes to see your miracles – the miracles you perform right now, amongst us in the land of the living. Lord, you continue to make your ways known and we thank you for it. Lord touch our sisters and brothers who have been diagnosed with cancer, who are under going treatment or preparing for surgery – Lord can you heal Kathy K, Doug, Lorrie C, Crystal D and anyone else struggling with the disease. Lord, we pray for those suffering from COVID-19 and other Chronic illnesses, and we ask that you heal them. Father God we know that you are healer. Heal them in the might name of Jesus, amen. Let others see and believe what You have done, and let them turn their lives to follow you. Lord, we also pray for those who are unemployed. Lord, we ask that you continue to provide for their financial needs. In Jesus name, amen.
