Always Confident

Good morning! Have you ever watched a fashion model walk the runway? Maybe you saw a quick clip that showed a model’s fierce poses, long strides, quick cut turns and stoic confidence. They embodied confidence from within, they demonstrated boldness for who they are, and glided across the runway as if no other opinion mattered. They may have fears we weren’t aware of, but in the end, they trusted the designer and the payment that was coming. Today, we will continue our reading in 2 Corinthians chapter five. Join me.

“So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies we are not at home with the Lord. For we live by believing and not by seeing. Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.” – 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 NLT

The wonderful thing about accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior is knowing that because we believe we are always secure in Him. We know that one day, Our Lord and Savior will finally say it’s “time to come home”. Sisters and brothers, will you be ready? Are you ready to hear, “well done my good and faithful servant?”

While time is fleeting and we don’t know when or how that final day will come, I want for you (my sisters and brothers in the faith) to know with confidence that when you leave this earthly home and body that you will be home with the Father.

For those of you who are reading today and have not given your life to Christ, I don’t want you to miss this opportunity to accept Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you are ready, pray with me:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I know I am a sinner and do not deserve eternal life. I believe you died and rose from the grave to save me. Lord Jesus, come into my life; take control of my life; forgive my sins and save me. I repent of my sins and now place my trust in You for my salvation. I accept the free gift of eternal life. I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me.”

Sisters and brothers, we can always be confident because Christ lives in us. So let us walk this runway of life with bold confidence knowing we can trust the ultimate Designer with our lives and the guaranteed payment of eternal life.

Father God, thank you for seeing us while we were still in our sins. Father, thank you for saving us. Lord, forgive us for our sins. Lord, we want to turn and send no more. Lord, we desire to walk in the same confidence that Paul walked in. The type of coinfidence that doesn’t wait/hesitate or doubt your promises, or your goodness or glory. Lord, protect us from ourselves and give us Your discernment and wisdom as we live in this temporary world in these temporary bodies. Lord, pour into us your Holy Spirit that never fails. Lord, may all that we do while we are here bring you glory. Lord, give us the ability to walk with bold confidence through this temporary home, proclaiming the Good News and sharing the security that can only be found in Jesus. And may you receive all the glory. In Jesus name, amen.
