Good morning! Have you been in a situation where you heard something and then you had a strong urge to speak on or respond to what was said? There are times when we hold our tongue and then there are times when we’ve had enough, so under our best behavior we speak truth in love.😊❤ Well, today we will continue in 2 Corinthians chapter four with Paul willing to face death for speaking and preaching the Truth.
“11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. 12 So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.
13 But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”[c] 14 We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus,[d] will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. 15 All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.” – 2 Corinthians 4:11-15 NLT
Paul knew the life and death chances he was taking when he preached the word of God to the Corinthian church or anyone else. However, he was willing to count the cost so that other will hear about Jesus Christ – the Good News and receive the gift of eternal life. Paul, didn’t fear death, because he knew no matter what (death at the hands of others for sharing the Good News death by natural cause living by and on every word of the Good News) in the end he was going to be raised with Jesus.
Paul’s reminder of the psalmist statement in Psalm 116:10 “I believed in God so I spoke,” should be enough for us to remember to share the Good News with others. Sisters and brothers, we don’t have the luxury of time walk around defeated -Jesus has already won. Life here on earth is only for a short period of time. Because we believe, we should speak and share the truth of Jesus Christ so that others will also receive eternal life.
You Believe – Then Speak
Father God, thank you for today. Father, thank you for your saving grace. Lord, thank you for laying down your life so that we can have eternal life. Lord, you are our everything. It is because Jesus lives that we have hope for today and for all eternity. Lord, whatever comes our way we know that you are with us. Lord, forgive us for the times we remained silent when others needed to hear about the hope that is found only in you. Lord, forgive us when we turned our backs on others and said, they will figure it out. Lord, give us discernment and wisdom to reach the lost, least and last. Lord, open up the store house of opportunity and strengthen our faith to speak and share the Good News because we believe in You. Lord, in your mercy hear our prayers. Teach us your way and lead us to those who need you. Lord, open our eyes so that we may see others like you see them. Lord, continue to break our hearts for what breaks yours and let us be about your business to make a difference in this world. Keep changing us. Shine brightly in and through us. All glory to you Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
