Good morning! Have no fear, our Lord God is with you.
“1 O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long.
2 I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me.
3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. 4 I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 56:1-4 NLT
For the past three months, I’ve been listening to Casting Crowns – Oh My Soul song lyrics. The verse that continues to repeat in my heart and mind is: There’s a place where fear has to face the God you know.
That sentence alone is such a powerful message and reminder, that our God is greater than all our fears. Brothers and sisters, the sooner we grasp hold to that truth, the quicker we are able to release our fears to God and allow him to work in and through us.
What fear(s) is holding you prisoner? _______
What has God called you to do, but fear has you paralyzed? ________
What family problem or financial burden keeps you in fear and unable to fully trust God? _______
What can mere mortals do? The writer of Hebrews wrote, “So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6 and Psalm 118:6)
Are you ready to allow the Lord to be your help? ________
Will you cast that/those burden(s) to the One who cares for you? ________
Are you ready to entrust your fears to a God who knows all things including your answers to the spaces listed above? ________
Father God, the enemy is trying to deceive us and hold us prisoner to our burdens and fears. He is trying to plant lies in our thoughts and limit our abilities and potential, because of your capabilities. However, Lord we know you, we trust you and believe your truth and not the lies of the enemy. Lord, we don’t want to live trapped by fear anymore. Father, take our hand and walk with us through these trials that have kept us in bondage and fearful. Lord, release the chains in our mind that keep us from pursing you and entrusting you and your ways. Guide us with an unconditional love and steady shield. Give us wisdom and discernment to stand bold and be courageous. Shine your light on our path and go before us as you remind us that you are greater than our fears and anything on the earth or in the heavenly realms – you are God alone! Lord, continue to speak truth in our hearts and change us. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
