What Will You Inherit?

Happy Friday! The Lord is our great provider and is always with us.

Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!I will bless the Lord who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me.I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.” (Psalm 16:5-8 NLT)

Oftentimes, we hear or read about someone passing away and leaving their family a great estate or inheritance. Sometimes, the inheritance is passed down from generation to generation (“old money”). Eventually,  a formal document or a will is read listing what each heir would receive. However, the other side of that is someone passes away leaving no inheritance or estate. In some cases they leave behind debt, angry people and pain.

Let me share another story.

When my mother passed away, my siblings and I knew there wasn’t a hidden estate/treasure that would surmount into billions of dollars. However, our mom left us the greatest inheritance of all and that was for us to have the foundation to know and love Jesus with all our heart. As my mom was drawing closer to the end of her life, the one thing she continued to say was “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus” and when she couldn’t say Jesus anymore she said “Ju Ju” which was here attempt to articulate Jesus. The entire hospital floor heard her day and night calling on Jesus. She knew if she called on his name he would be right beside her. For months after her death and even today, I can’t hear the word Jesus without thinking of her.

What she left me with (and possibly all the nurses on the floor) may not be a billion dollar estate in California, but it is definitely a road map to a mansion in heaven.

The Lord is always with us, even in the dark his light shines. What will you inherit? What will you leave for generations to come?

The greatest inheritance comes from God. He has made a way for us to be with him for eternity. Today is the perfect day to say Lord, when I die I want to make sure I spend eternity with you.

The Bible says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT

If you believe this, pray with me:

“Father God, thank you for your testimony. Thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to save us. Lord, we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ is your son, and that he died on the cross that we may be forgiven and have eternal life. Father God, we believe Jesus rose from the dead and we ask you to come into our lives to be our Lord and Savior. Father God, we repent of our sins and because your word is true we confess that we are born again believers and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.” Amen.

If this is the first time you prayed this prayer, I want to welcome you to the family of God. I encourage you to get involved in your local Bible believing and teaching church to surround yourself with a healthy body of Christian believers. Also, send me an email so that a member of my team or I can connect with you. Email: contactus@maryewhiteministries.com

Father God we thank you for the inheritance of you. We thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins so that we may have eternal life. Lord, your ways are far beyond our own. Continue to teach us in ways that only you can. Guide our thoughts and motives and let them align with yours. Lord, when the world shakes around us, let us not be moved. Help us to fix our eyes on you. In Jesus name, amen!

Keep seeking God’s truth! Keep trusting God’s word! Keep praying!
