“So you must remain faithful to what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do, you will remain in fellowship with the Son and with the Father. And in this fellowship we enjoy the eternal life he promised us. I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.” 1 John 2:24-27 NLT
This weekend, think about how you can spend more time with the Lord. Will you set an appointment time on your phone? Will you turn off the TV and spend time with the Lord?
How will you remain in fellowship with Christ this weekend? _____
Father God, thank you for caring for us this week. Lord, you didn’t have to wake us this morning, but you did. Lord, we desire to remain in you, create in us a clean heart, direct our thoughts and motives. Lord, guide our feet/hands/eyes and our speech so that we may do what is pleasing in your eyes.
Lord, fill us with your Holy Spirit and may our actions resemble a life that is in you. Lord, be with the people in California who have been affected by the fires. Lord, protect and heal the lungs of those around the fires. Lord, protect the first responders from the flames and smoke. Lord, be with the people who have lost their homes and possessions – comfort them and help them find shelter. Lord, be with the people in the southern US as they prepare for snow. Lord, keep them warm and the roads safe. Lord, be with other countries as they struggle with unrest, lack of food, natural disasters, etc., – Lord, you know the need, make provisions for the weak, innocent and defenseless. Lord, continue to teach us how to remain in you. Continue to change us. In Jesus name, amen!
Keep seeking! Keep trusting! Keep praying!
