Good morning! Rejection is probably one of the worst feelings and fears that a person may experience. While Jesus was rejected by many, he continued to pursue God’s will because he understood the assignment – the bigger picture. If you are feeling rejected, remember the Lord loves you and he has not rejected you. He went all the way to the cross for you. Stay encouraged! He is with you today. Enjoy today’s devotion.
Bible Verse – Matthew 11:11-15 NLT
“11 “I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is! 12 And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it. 13 For before John came, all the prophets and the law of Moses looked forward to this present time. 14 And if you are willing to accept what I say, he is Elijah, the one the prophets said would come.[Malachi 4:5] 15 Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!”
Reflection
In those days the religious leaders rejected John the Baptist and Jesus. Many did not believe that John the Baptist was Elijah or in the kingdom that Jesus spoke of. They wanted a kingdom, but not the one Jesus described. As a result, the religious leaders attacked the message on any occasion.
Brothers and sisters the word of God is still under attack. Be in prayer for pastors and missionaries around the world. Be in prayer for your fellow sisters and brothers in Christ, because the enemy is real and his lies seem true, but don’t you worry our Lord and Savior is the truth, and He has defeated the enemy. Keep praying. Keep trusting. Keep believing the word of God. He loves you!
Prayer
Father God, thank you. Lord, Jesus we honor you, and give you glory and praise. Lord, you are greater than anything in heaven and on earth. Lord, help us to stand firm in your word. Lord, help us to remain focused on your plan and will. Lord, teach and equip us to understand your word and share it with others. Lord, open our eyes to see what you are doing, open our ears to hear what you are saying, and soften our hearts to be obedient and follow your instructions. Lord, use us today to bring glory and honor to you. Lord, give us a heart for the hurting. Humble our hearts and spirits to see and minister to the broken and lost. Lord, be with us as we go through this day. Give us favor on the job/school, peace in our homes, protection for our families and comfort for our souls. Lord, we surrender our day to you, continue to change and use us.
Lord, we continue to pray for the man with chronic leg and back pain. Lord, we ask that you remove that thorn in his side. Lord, relieve him of the pain that he is suffering. We pray for the women who are suffering from chronic illness and pain, and we ask for their healing. Lord, if you don’t immediately heal them, give their doctors wisdom and insight on how to treat them and let the treatment remedy the problem. Lord, continue to open doors of employment to the unemployed and under employment.
In Jesus name, amen.
