Good morning! Thank you for joining me as we continue to read the faith chapter in the book of Hebrews. May the Lord continue to strengthen your faith and bless you with steady waves of peace.
Bible Verse – Hebrews 11:30-31 NLT
“30 It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days, and the walls came crashing down.
31 It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.”
Reflection
These two examples of faith reminds us of courage and victory. The courage of Rehab to hide the spies led to her and her household being saved from destruction (note, she was a Gentile). The collapse of the Jericho wall required faith that lead to the victory over their enemies. While it required them to walk a lap each day, on the seventh day – the seventh lap… the Lord lead them and through their obedience the walls fell. (You can read Joshua 6 for further details.)
When we are obedient and follow God’s direction he is faithful to deliver us from the hands of our enemy(ies). Remember, the Lord has not forgotten his children. He sees the injustice, the unrighteous, and those who refuse to turn away from sin/wickedness. According to Psalm 25 (read it when you have a chance), our God is the God who saves, is good and does what is right, He is a friend, protects, forgives and is our refuge.
Today, sister and brother, if you are struggling with a situation in your life, may I challenge you to call on the name that is above all names “Jesus” and he will see you through. Regardless of your past, God is willing to be your today. Trust Him! Victory is the Lord’s. Listen to Him and be obedient to His commands and guidance.
Prayer
Father God, we come to you today with a humble heart asking for your direction, asking for your victory, and praying for sustaining peace. Lord, we ask that you comfort the broken-hearted, those who are under persecution, and those who are seeking you for other reasons. Lord guide us in all our ways. Lord, strengthen our faith to be as bold as Israel when they marched around the city seven times. Help us to be fearless and follow you despite what the world says.
Lord, throughout scripture you have called us to draw closer to you, to listen to you, and follow you in obedience because you want what is good for us. Lord, help us to trust you more with our hearts, minds, and in our actions. Lord, teach us to be better listeners and obedient followers of your word and truth. Lord, keep us from being hard-head when all you require is our patience and trust in your timing. Lord, deliver homes and families from chaos and confusion. Lord, strengthen us and use us Lord, in Jesus name, Amen! Keep seeking His truth! Keep Trusting His promises! Keep praying!
