Faith That God Will Keep His Promise

Good morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today, we are continuing our reading in Hebrews chapter 11. Join me as we explore the faithfulness of God.

Bible Verse – Hebrews 11:11-12 NLT

“11 It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise. 12 And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them.”

REFLECTION

Sarah struggled with the initial promise because it took years for her to conceive. She was so uncertain of the promise that she took her marriage into her own hands and later had resentment for her actions. Yet, God was good. He fulfilled his promises despite the mistakes Sarah made. God did what he said he would do.

There will be times that we may fall short, but have faith anyway. There maybe times when life is not what you expect it to be, but have faith anyway. You can trust God at his word to do what he says he will do.

Are you struggling with a situation today or with your faith? Tell God what it is and prayerfully seek him.

PRAYER

Father God, we come to you today in faith believing your word/promises are true. We are challenged by things on our left and our right, in our homes, on our jobs, with our physical and mental health, in our relationships and every day situations. Lord, help us to fix our eyes straight ahead – focused on you. Guide our thoughts, calm our emotions, and remind us of your faithfulness. Help us to recall each time you helped us to overcome our situations in the past. Help us to recall the days when we didn’t think we could make it, yet we did because of you.

Lord, keep us today as only you can. Be with our families and direct our steps. Lord, continue to heal the broken hearted. Heal those who are sick. Lord, remove fear from our hearts and help us to trust you more. Lord, comfort each person struggling to have a child. Lord, heal and open the womb of women who have been trying to conceive and let them conceive. Lord, be with our country and other nations that are facing difficulties. Help your righteous to stand in the gap and be your hands and feet. Use us Lord. In Jesus name, amen.
